There is a charge on my statement I don't recognise
You can find it, stop it, and ask for it back on our cancel page. No login, no email, no waiting: search with your email address and the last four digits of the card.
How do I cancel?
One click, from the cancel page or from your account. It works immediately, you are never charged again from that moment, and we email you proof.
There is no phone call, no retention questionnaire and no "are you sure".
Can I get a refund?
Ask and we refund, within 14 days of a charge and with no reason needed. Contact us. A renewal is a new charge, so it gets its own 14 days. The refund policy has the detail.
What does a paid report contain?
The registered owner's name where a record exists, plus the carrier, the line type, the region the number is registered to, and whether it has been reported as spam. Exactly which rows are available is shown before you pay, for that specific number.
What does the free check show?
Carrier, line type, region and whether it has been reported as spam, on real data from our live sources. It is not a sample and it is not a teaser built from nothing: it is the actual result for the number you typed.
Can you show me where a phone is right now?
No. We do not do live location, continuous tracking or GPS, and we will not build it.
What we do offer is consent-based location sharing: we text the person, they see who is asking, and they choose whether to share their position once. If they say no, nothing happens.
Will they know I looked them up?
For a number lookup, no. It reads records that already exist.
For a location request, yes, always, by design. The text names who is asking. There is no version of this that works without the other person agreeing, and that is the point of it rather than a limitation of it.
How much is it, and how does the billing work?
You can buy a single report, charged once, with no subscription and nothing to cancel. Or you can start a subscription, which begins with a paid 3-day trial, charged when you start it. Unless you cancel first it becomes a subscription billed every month, every 3 months or once a year, depending on the term you chose. The exact amount in your currency is shown at checkout before you enter any card details.

How many numbers can I check?
Every plan includes 10 report credits a week. One credit is one full report, credits reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC, and re-reading a report you already have costs nothing. We publish the number rather than throttling quietly.
Where does the data come from?
Licensed commercial data providers and public records. We do not scrape social media, and we do not read messages, calls or anything on a device.
Is the owner's name always there?
No. Coverage varies by number, and plenty of numbers have no owner record at all. We check before charging you and tell you what we actually hold for that number, so you are never buying a maybe.
Can I use this to screen a tenant, an employee or a loan?
No. Phone-Checker is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and this data is not a consumer report. Do not use it to decide anyone's eligibility for employment, housing, credit or insurance. If you need that, use a real consumer reporting agency.
Can I keep my own number out of your results?
Yes. Ask us on the do not sell page and we suppress it.
