Terms of Service
1. What we are
Phone-Checker is a phone-intelligence service. You give us a phone number and we show you what our data sources know about it: the carrier, the line type, the region it is registered to, a scam-risk score, and, on a paid report, the registered owner where a record exists.
2. Not a consumer reporting agency
Phone-Checker is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and our data is not a consumer report. Do not use it to decide anyone's eligibility for employment, housing, credit, insurance, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA. If you need that, use a real consumer reporting agency.
You also agree not to use Phone-Checker to stalk, harass, threaten or intimidate anyone. We close accounts for this and we cooperate with law enforcement.
3. What we charge
- A one-time fee today unlocks your first full report and starts a 48h trial.
- Unless you cancel first, that trial converts to a recurring subscription.
- It renews every 3 months until you cancel.
- It appears on your statement as MY-PHONE-CHECK.
- We email you before the trial converts. We do not rely on you forgetting.
The exact amount you pay is shown at checkout before you enter any card details, and in full on the billing page.
4. Cancelling
Cancel in your account in one click, at any time. It takes effect immediately and you are never charged again. No phone call, no retention questionnaire, no waiting period.
If you cannot get into your account, use the cancel page with your email and the last four digits of your card, or contact us and we will do it for you.
5. Refunds
Ask and we refund. We would rather return your money than argue about it. Contact us.
6. Locating a phone, with consent
Our locate feature works one way only. We text the person, they see who is asking, and they choose whether to share a single location at that moment. If they decline, or do nothing, you get nothing and you are told so. We do not offer covert tracking, continuous tracking or live GPS, and we will not build it.
By requesting a locate you confirm you have a legitimate reason to contact that person, and that you are not using this to monitor anyone against their wishes.
7. What we can and cannot promise about the data
Our data comes from carriers, public records and licensed suppliers. It is accurate as often as they are, which is not always. Records go stale, numbers get reassigned, and some numbers have no owner record at all. We show what we actually have and we say so when we have nothing. We do not guarantee that any record exists, is current or is correct, and a report is not proof of anything.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, resell or bulk-extract our data.
- Do not point automated tools at the service.
- Do not use it for any FCRA-covered decision (see section 2).
- Do not use it to harm, harass or surveil anyone.
9. Liability
The service is provided as-is. To the maximum extent the law allows, the Company is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the previous 3 months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer in the UK or EU your statutory rights are unaffected.
10. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we email you before it takes effect. If we change the price, we tell you before we charge it, and you can cancel first.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. If you are a consumer you keep the mandatory protections of the country you live in, and you can bring proceedings there.
